Modern life can be stressful, hectic and unpredictable. Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and confused. I understand that the decision to come for counselling can be a difficult one, and feel quite daunting, looking at this site may be your first step in this process. My aim is to provide you with a calm, warm and safe environment in which you can explore the experiences, thoughts and feelings that you are finding difficult.

Gaining new insights can help you to make sense of things, so you can find your way through your difficulties towards personal satisfaction and higher self-esteem. I will always listen to you without judgement and with respect. Trust and confidentiality are essential elements of the counselling relationship and all information you share with me will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Counselling Children & Young people

Counselling children is different to counselling adults. Children like adults need to feel safe and supported to express themselves through creative channels. A child may not be able to talk through issues, but instead can communicate them through creative activities.

The sand tray, clay, drawing, toy animals, paints, play dough etc. Working with metaphor and personification also may help young people to project onto objects and open up unconscious thoughts and feelings which can be further explored through creative interactions. This can release emotion and assist a young person to become more self aware and move forwards, gaining insight and growing confidence.
